HSE Initiatives
At OPTIMAL, we strive to constantly improve our work processes and take the lead in Health, Safety and the Environment practices.
- Investment In Equipment:
To date, OPTIMAL has invested US$ 10 million in the purchase of various fire fighting equipment, an integrated fire alarm system, emergency response and online gas detection equipment, fire protection systems as well as waste management and waste collection facilities.
- Training For Our Workforce:
Comprehensive training programs are regularly conducted to ensure safety procedures are strictly adhered to. These include in-house computer based training as well as external training such as at the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Terengganu Safety Training Centre (TSTC) and other HSE training institutions in Malaysia.
The Future: The Sustainable Development Concept
We embrace the basic concept of 'Sustainable Development' in which efforts are made today for the benefit of the future generation. In contributing towards this cause, OPTIMAL adopts a 'Land Farm Concept' which is a first for Malaysia.
The concept is a hi-tech waste management system where non-scheduled waste products are pumped into a special land area and biologically consumed by the planted vegetation.
